Revision of ImageCLEF 2008 from Sun, 09/23/2007 - 22:02

ImageCLEF is the cross-language image retrieval track which is run as part of the Cross Language Evaluation Forum (CLEF) campaign. This track evaluates retrieval of images described by text captions based on queries in a different language; both text and image matching techniques are potentially exploitable. A preliminary flyer for ImageCLEF 2007 can be downloaded here

Currently it is not yet completely defined what will happen in ImageCLEF 2008. Probably, there will be

  • a photographic retrieval task,
  • a medical retrieval task,
  • a medical concept detection/annotation task, and
  • a general photographic concept detection task.

More information on these will follow shortly.

Schedule

Currently the exact schedule is not yet known. The schedule is task-dependant. The annotation/detection tasks might take place before the retrieval task, so that their output can be used as input for the retrieval tasks.
